Mead and cider calculators, plus a batch log that stays on your phone
Free, no account, works offline once loaded. Enter your gravity readings, get an ABV estimate and the honey or sugar to add. Then save the batch with its dated readings.
Estimates, not advice. ABV is worked out from the gravity readings you type in. A hydrometer reading and a pH strip or meter are your check, not this page. Nothing here says a batch is safe to drink. For basics on home fermentation safety, see your state health department's food-safety pages. Spirits and distilling are out of scope.

Brix works for the starting reading only. A refractometer reads wrong once alcohol is present, so use a hydrometer for the final reading.

Batch log for mead, cider and kombucha
One log for every ferment you have going. Each batch keeps its date, notes and a list of readings: gravity or Brix, pH, temperature. Add reminders for racking or feeding. Reminders show at the top when you open the page; they do not send notifications. The log lives in your browser's storage on this device, with nothing uploaded.
The free log keeps 3 batches. The unlimited log below is not on sale yet, so delete a finished batch to add another.
What the free version does
- All three calculators, with no limit.
- Up to 3 batches in the log.
- Install it to your home screen on iPhone or Android and it opens without a connection.
Full batch log: A$24.99, once
Planned: unlimited batches, CSV export of every reading, and a backup file you can restore on a new phone. It does not exist yet (in development; price not final).
I'd want this: A$24.99 once In development. Not charged yet, price not final. Nothing is sold, charged or collected on this page. The free tool stays free.
How the numbers work
- ABV: (starting gravity minus final gravity) x 131.25, the standard homebrew estimate (Palmer, How to Brew). Brix is converted to gravity first.
- Honey: honey adds about 35 gravity points per pound per US gallon, so 3 lb in one gallon is about 1.105. Honey varies by batch, so treat it as a starting point.
- Priming sugar: dissolved CO2 at your cider's temperature is subtracted from your target, and the rest is made up with sugar (dextrose 15.195 g per US gallon per volume, table sugar 0.91 of that). Only prime fully fermented, stable cider.
Questions
Where is my data? On your device only. Clear your browser data and the log goes with it. On iPhone, installing to the home screen keeps it from being cleared after a week of not visiting.
Does it need an account? No.
What if the paid log does not work as described? Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply, and you would get a fix or a refund.
